Andrea Passalacqua

Associate

Andrea Passalacqua specializes in simplifying complex financial information, a skill she honed most notably as the head of Investor Relations at The New York Times Company. Before she landed in Investor Relations at NYT, she also worked in the company's strategy and internal M&A groups.

In her IR capacity, Andrea was the go-to contact for financial writing and communications. She went beyond the official investor conference and quarterly earnings language to distill company developments into clear and actionable terms that resonated with everyone from research analysts to reporters trying to navigate the company's evolving business model. She led the investment community through a CEO transition and spearheaded analyst and investor communications surrounding the global launch of NYT's digital pay subscription model.

Andrea has also put her financial analysis and communications skills to use at organizations including The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Apartments.com. She lived in Basel, Switzerland with her family for nearly 4 years, at the tri-country border with Germany and France – where she found that effective communication often required attempting multiple languages in a single day.

Andrea has a Bachelor's of Science from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and an MBA with concentrations in finance and strategy from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business. She started her career by getting hired in the Chicago Tribune newsroom before she had even received her college diploma.
